1806 Gigondas Red Rhone Blend

Kirsch, black cherry, herbs, mint, chocolate, medium acid toast and a bit of funk. Pretty damn good if not a little ripe.

Dark berries and eucalyptus, give a little time to open up and get interesting.

Spice notes on the nose, woody, deep red fruit
Full body, high alcohol, tannins, med high acid, med dry
Velvety texture and vegetal finish

Maybe 90% overripe fruit. Would have absolutely pegged it as new world. Small hints of dark chocolate and earthy spices. No finish. Too much alcohol. Meh.

Opened for a few hours of breathing ... Subtle nose.. Dry berries, leather .. tight finish .

Young but good
