Classic Gigondas, a bit young, but delicious.

A great '11 from my favourite Gigondas producer. Impressive considering the vintage.

Deep purple, mulberry and blueberry fruit, black pepper, forest floor, and green tea. Spicy with pepper fruit, dark berries, with hints of vanilla. Heat spikes on the midpalate. Syrah seems more dominate, although it’s 20% (80% Grenache). Paired with burgers.

Decanted for 2+ hours. Spicy and savory, almost gamey, well balance nose. Red currant jumps out, with ripe, but not jammy red fruit on the palate. Pleasant acidity to a finish that is medium in length.

Went well with steak frites at Jeanne d'Arc. Fruit forward, opened up quickly.

Very closed wine, almost bitter and very woody.
Did not live up to the expectations

Way too early, interesting but needs time to integrate.
