Another Friday night and we are starting the weekend off with the 2010 Domaine Dominique Mugneret Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Pinot Noir Vendangé À La Main.

On the nose there is cherry, strawberry, cranberry, vanilla, barnyard, rhubarb, beet juice, black olive, truffle and earth. The barnyard blows off and is not as prominent the longer you leave it open up.

On the palate there is tart cherry, tart raspberry, cranberry, caramel, clove, wet leaves and an earthiness.

This is a medium body wine with medium smooth coating tannin, medium acidity they leads to a medium pleasing finish. Continue enjoying the weekend and please be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Wow! On this Saturday afternoon I have opened a 2010 Pinot Noir from Cotes de Nuits and I am glad I did. I just wish I had more. Beautiful Ruby in color. I love the nose on this one, ripe strawberries, violets, nice earthiness and mushrooms. A bit of funk which I love to savor that I find in the better bourgogne wines. On the palate I have sour cherries, with a touch of sweetness that helps in the balance. Smooth tannins, Medium + acidity, good length, great mouth feel. Super Burgundy at a great price, $24.99. Get it if you can.

It grew on me steadily. Light-bodied, bright, fruity, clean.

Earthy, dark Burgundy with a little bite. At the price it's a nice score

Perfect encapsulation of a Burgundy village wine. Dried cherry and rose petal. Cranberry sauce, iron, baking spice, cinnamon blood orange with dried sage notes. Rich and expressive with good texture on the palate. A steal in the $30-$40 range.

Appealing but subtle flavor, very little body. Light even for Pinot.
