Pop and pour, 2 hrs slow ox. You could wait until 2027 as the drink-by dates suggest, but as a 17, you'd be missing out: this is fairly generous, and rather open (I'm drinking the 17 before the 16 for example). On the nose: lovely soft mulberry, gevrey earth, musky perfume, soft spice, wild strawberry. On the palate: primary, but so compelling: excellent acidity, tangy pomegranate, wild strawberry, loads of spice. and soft tannin on the finish. Fabulously energetic and so drinkable. An unheralded gem of Gevrey? Unquestionably best young vintage I have tasted.

A year on from the last time I had this, and this is even better. On the nose, soft toast, sweet red raspberry and wild strawberry, some Gevrey earth and what seems like stem inclusion. None of that captures something distinctive about this wine; since it's a monopole, it's hard to say if it is more winemaker or terroir, but this is special. On the palate, lovely acidity, a touch of baking spice, dense red raspberry, and a touch of earth. Lovely finely grained tannin on the finish. Yum.

Raspberry up front, then leather, tar. Bright, still a lot of acidity. Nice finish
