Incredible nose of dried hibiscus, mulled spices, and pomegranate. Leather, salt, and granite follow on the palate. Mouthfeel reminds me a lot of Southern Rhône wrapped in a Burgundy shell.

Where's the stuffing? A burly, rough Cru Beaj; showed a little fruit for a few hours after a day open but then shut right back down. Too much tannin, too much VA, too much Brett. Not enough wine.

Aug 3rd, 2016Pleasantly surprised with this wine. Dried fruit, wet stone and pepper on the nose. More tannin than I normally like but this is balanced and will get better over the next 2 years
