Côtes de Castillon Red Bordeaux Blend

Opened about 30 minutes prior to service and enjoyed over the course of two hours. The 2023 pours a deep garnet/purple with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe, mostly black fruit: mulberries, blackberries, plums, purple flowers, exotic spices, mocha, some wood varnish and organic earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and sanguine with a velvety texture. Modern and insane value. Drink now through 2038.

Good stuff, drinking very well after a few hour decant. Typical Bordeaux mid-to-full weight but an interesting flavor profile - black plum, mocha, sweet leather, tar, Seamless, tannins are folded in, ready to go. Rustic on the nose and from a flavor profile standpoint, but new school in terms of mouth impact and texture.

Decent. Liked the flow off the palette.

Very nice bordeaux merlot (90%), plum, very rounded, soft tanins

Medium garnet , ruby core , medium wide garnet rim . Touch of wood spice at first then , dark plum and blackberry, grilled meat . On the palate good density of dark fruits, with a slightly gritty grafite , oyster shell note, spice and cocoa. Slightly dry tannin and balanced acidity . Finishes slightly short , a little chalky also . Overall well made but just misses the extra complexity and density of a better vintage . This is in its drinking window , now and over the next 5-8 years .
