Domaine de la Pinte
de l'Ami Karl Arbois Poulsard
These wines are so ridiculously good. Funky and wild cherry and berry fruit with minerals and earth, sweet exotic citrus. Soft tannins and prominent acid on the palate make this endlessly drinkable and a great foil for a wide variety of food. Enjoyed tonight with salt-crusted branzino, roasted potatoes, and a chicory salad with anchovy dressing.

Jul 10th, 2015Poulsard de L'Ami Karl, from 2ha plot. Bottled in April. Quite struck match notes, needs 6 months to lose it. Quite smoky, chalky, red fruit & vegetal. 2014 vintage. Small volumes due to fruit fly problems eating the juice (due to the thin skins of Poulsard and the early ripening). Takes swirling but the match note has gone. Sweeter than 2011, more fresh fruit. Good vibrancy. 89

Jun 8th, 2015God I love wine from the Jura. So red, fresh, and delicious. And 11% abv, so eminently gulpable. Tangy cranberries, pomegranates, and blood oranges. Iron. Dirt. Sweet spot

Mar 31st, 2015Strawberry and violet. Light, but wonderfully present and long on the palate. Pretty.
