Le Nain Violet Grenache

An intense wine with ripe red cherries, black cherries, plums and baking spices (cinnamon, clove) on the nose. the palate shows more pomegranate and cranberries blended with underbrush, smoke, vanilla, and black pepper.

Perfumed with a mild spice, like a tea rose basking in the mid-afternoon sun. Cranberries add to the roundness and brightness. Very approachable and enjoyable, with some fine nuances.

Solid Grenache.

Big and deep wine for stage 10 of #tourdefrance Dark violet with cooked fruit and some floral.

Excellent showing from the Rhone.

The purple dwarf rocks it - fruit forward , high alcohol for French wine - think it's made by a Brit

Savory nose of prune and cedar. Flavor is a big burst of purple fruits like ripe plum and prune and even ripe nectarine, cedary damp wood adds depth and complexity but in balance. The tannins are relatively soft but there's just enough, along with medium+ acidity, to add some structure. The wine finishes semi-dry and doesn't hold back demonstrating how fruit-forward it is. Not really my style of wine but I can't deny it's fun to drink! It's just delicious. 3.5
