Domaine de la Janasse
Réserve Côtes du Rhône Red Rhône Blend
For about $20 this is excellent value from a great Rhône producer. Would absolutely buy again.

Jan 13th, 2019Ruby in color with medium intensity and a wide reddish rim.
Earthy nose with blueberries, cherries, plums, vanilla, spices, oak, herbs, earth, eaucaliptus, mint, alcohol, leaves, leather, graphite and black pepper.
Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, oak, cloves, green vegetables, bitter herbs, earth, leather, forest floor, bell pepper and peppercorn.
Medium finish with fine grained tannins and bitter almonds.
This is a drinkable Côte du Rhône, but not fully balanced. Very earthy and a little bitter for my taste.
Might have been better a year ago. Better with food than just by itself. Needs 30 minutes to open up.
A blend of 55% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 10% Carignan, 5% Mourvedre and 5% Cinsault.
I paired it with a charcuterie board of Meats and cheeses.
14% alcohol by volume.
83 points.
$17.

A beautiful wine with bright red fruit on the nose balanced by a subtle hint of garrigue. Great grenache core, good acid balance, long finish. Luscious and a great value

1 person found it helpfulAug 11th, 2014Medium-deep ruby colored, this Côtes du Rhône delivers aromas of bright cherry, with a touch of tar. Flavors of cherries and blueberries meet earth and minerals. Had it with an Indian lamb dish, and it was a pretty good pairing.

Jul 8th, 2016The extra bit of Syrah this vintage is appreciated. Solid, quaffable wine.

Mar 2nd, 2016Even though this "reserve" CdR cuvée is a US-only Solomon exclusive, it's still got enough earth and minerality to accent the forward fruit.
