Chaupin Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend

Deep dark reddish purple. Opaque. Medicinal nose. Notes of cherry kirsch, anise, herbs and spice. Very ripe fruit in the mouth. Hot. Like cough syrup almost. Needs to develop and shed the heaviness. Not my style of CdP.

Despite the bizarre sticker that labels this a red Rhône dessert wine, this is chateauneuf of a slightly older school. Mature with tannins pretty resolved, this still tastes quite fresh. Ripe fruit, and earthy notes. Quite good.

First taste is a bit hot and disjointed. Super disappointing, as previous bottles have been phenomenal.

The nose is a 96. It's not on the palate. Not sure what's up...

Another beautiful bottle of this. So very enjoyable. Rich, pure Grenache bliss

Flawless wine. But a bit too much on the alcoholic side for me.

6/2020. Well balanced wine, full of flavor and boldness with a very nice finish. Paired well with the sauce in the chicken and pasta and having peas and asparagus.
