No formal notes, but such a joy...
Had it with wifey in plastic glasses, on the lawn, on a sunny day, on the right side of the street.
It was a magnum and we could not stop drinking it. I possess 2 more bottles that i should have no hurry to open, but....you know...it was such a success!!!😍😍🙏🙏

strong white floral bouquet w white peach, apple pie & candied ginger ~ typically rich yet medium in weight ~ including flavors of pear, nectarine, dried apricot, guava to the previous plus an oiled honey w white pepper

Very ripe. Pineapple. A touch of RS. Rich and intense. Idiosyncratic white Burgundy.

Tried 14,15 & this 16.
16 fits my palate the best since it has more acidity,
I’ll take this over any $100.00 plus California Chardonnay

The 2016 Viré-Clessé Cuvée E. J. Thevenet is showing beautifully, unfurling in the glass with notes of elderflower, beeswax, pear, white flowers and peach. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and precise, it's lively and concentrated, concluding with a saline finish. This is a more elegant, less muscular wine than the 2015, nodding to the style of the lovely 2013. I vividly remember visiting the domaine in October 2016, in pouring rain, when everyone else in the neighborhood had finished picking and Gautier Thevenet hadn't yet begun!

Decant & let it warm up above cellar temp is what David said so I tried it, just gets better as it sits in the glass for a bit.

A little tropical, rich but with nice acidity, lovely. It just gets more explosive and intense with air, and is world-class by the end of the night.

Lychee, kiwi, elderflower, bitter almond flower, honeysuckle, hints of saffron. Snapping rounded acidity, full bodied, juicy rich texture, long floral, slightly honeyed finish. Juxtaposed delicacy over richness, mineral notes expressed despite touches of RS. Unique Burgundy. 30-45 minute decanting recommended.

Not a Chardonnay fan but this is very good. No Oak flavor. Agree with the comments from someone else about a pineapple hint but it is subtle.
