Taken to the outdoor theatre in Carmel. Light bright color. Sharp and enticing nose. Notes of lemon and and a bowl of citrus fruit, some white stone, some tan spice. While a recent 05 Forest was more CA like, this screams young Chablis. If these 08s can avoid the Plague, they will be special in 10-20 years.

2008 vintage. At Hostellerie des Clos in Chablis for lunch. Pale lemon hue. White truffles on the nose, medium concentration of citrus fruits and green apples, chalky minerality and honey suckle aromas. On the palate, high acidity, medium body, medium plus concentration and medium plus finish. Decent. Drink now until 2030.

I was predisposed to disappointment after having the 02 last week but boy did this turn out beautifully! Kind of like seeing a movie on imax and then watching it in an old theater the following week. The movie is not better, but you learn some things, and boy isn't the movie still good! Peking Duck House
