Just what you expect from this region and producer. Bright acid steely and mineral. Very nice.

Celebrating our first New Year's with baby Jack! Josh and I are home, cooking up a storm. Chose this wine to begin as it pairs well with our Wellfleet oyster course.

My batting average with this particular wine and vintage is not very good. This is the last of a four pack and only the first one that I opened was a good representative of what this should taste like. At times the nose showed what one would expect. The palate came up empty.

The 13 is singing at this point. Golden green color. Fresh and lively with a counterpoint of deep mineral and a touch of corn tortillas.

Incredible power. Aching minerality. It almost hurts to drink this. I just want to inhale the bouquet .

1996 was a great great white Burgundy vintage. And it fell apart. The great wines were amazing, some of the best white Burgs in my experience. And premox came like the grim reaper, destroying so many wines. I’ve kept a few. Opened one tonight—Preuses from Dauvissat, not immune to the pox.

But this bottle is great. Great great like the vintage promised long ago. Essence of lemon drops. Incredible intensity. Length is infinite. So balanced. Minerals and a little chalk, but such intense citrus. I can’t even write in sentences.
