Les Clos Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay

Plush and tropical on the nose. Hints of pineapple, lime . Papaya, salt. Evocative and lush. Fantastic stuff. Not a typical Chablis but delicious.

Fresh and bright and punchy. Green apple. Peach, lots of zip and drive. Bright with a way ahead. Lots going on here. Good stuff

A bit more advanced than I would have expected but still on this side of premox. Fleshy with notes of golden fruit, some light notes of tropical tang (guava, pineapple banana). Settled in the palate. Fleshy and poised and balanced. I’d drink up but a very thorough wine

This is spectacular. A powerful nose if rock pools, soft lime notes, salinity, a faint spiciness- sandalwood? Complex and balanced and long. Years ahead but great now.

Intense and powerful. Lovely balance. Apple, floral notes, limestone. Complex and delicious

Tasted blind. Medium yellow gold color, great weight in the glass. Notes of lemon, white flower, peach, some honey and a little dirty wet stone. Very rich in the mouth. Power and acidity. Later in the evening this slowed down a bit but this was in great shape and gave the 90 Rav Clos next to it a formidable challenge. Guessed 90 Dauvissat Preuses.

Tasted blind. Straw gold color, certainly younger than the previous bottles. Notes of citrus, gravel, some mint. Massive fruit and acidity in the mouth. The mint directs me to guess this is 92 Ramonet BBM. While still young, this showed the attributes of a great, somewhat aged Chablis. The powerful acidity matched against a great core of fruit suggest this has many years of life ahead of it and can still improve with more age.

Quite exotic in this frame of reference. A hint of passion fruit, gorgeous fresh fruit. Sophisticated and intense. Great

Lovely stuff. Intense yet light. Fresh, packed with minerals and limey fruit. I need to leave these alone as I have been diving in and they have years ahead

This is pretty glorious. Oyster shells, pretty and punchy light fruit. With peachy limey stuff. This is young but REALLY pure and really balanced. Limestone. A bit before it’s time but super refreshing. Great stuff.
