A brooding, intense nose. Dark red fruit, a bit of oak, intense violets and earthy fruit. Tight and masculine next to the Mugnier, but lovely stuff.

Some quibbled that this faded but this was all elegance and class wrapped in sexy bold silk for me. Better early but still phenomenal. Joe seemed to enjoy.

With a one hour decant (please do not comment with burgundies should not be decanted) it’s an amazing wine. Very elegant with sweet fruit notes but also some stems. Supremely elegant.
