Domaine Clos des Rochers
Grand Premier Cru Moselle Luxembourgeoise Auxerrois Blanc
An aperitif wine to engage the palate and build the appetite for dinner on this wet covid day inside. Even Jake won’t go out. This wine isn’t a Ferrari - more like a spiffy Honda with metallic paint and a nice stereo system. Nice wine.

Nov 30th, 2014So dang good! Love this varietal but rarely see it… hits you right away with crisp red apples, smoke, minerals, lanolin, saline & tart citrus. Smooth luxurious sensuous on palate, weighty yet light bodied, silky but still w/bracing acidity. This one says - I’m more than a mere aperitif, I’m more versatile than that! Long mineraly finish, echoes fruit on nose. I’d like to revisit in 5 yrs

Jan 30th, 2015Pros: Fruity, able-bodied, with a hint of acid Cons: not quite punchy and fruity enough, hint of carbonation
