Solid. Like almost every ‘14 red burg I’ve opened lately this had a layer of VA that was really hard to get past, especially with air. Shame. Loved this vintage in it’s youth.

Nose is floral and bright. Dusty as well. Lovely depth and clarity here. Licorice. Cherry flower. Really impressive. Floral, herbal, sous bois explosion. Chavy’s reds are so classic. Elegant, juicy and structured. Nice tiny berry fruit intensity and really perfumed in the mouth. Long and with structure to burn. Needs 10 years but fun to peek now. Excellent.

I found this rather simple and refreshing, which was in no way a bad thing. Exactly what we wanted for dinner. Lovely juicy just ripe cherry fruit, some lovely earthy notes and charming perfume. Its lightness and tangy acidity paired with finely knit yet caressing tannin made for easy and thoroughly thirst quenching bottle. Pour la table!

This is in a great place now. Gorgeous nose. Beautiful earthiness on a bed of mid season cherries. Stunning and vivid wet earth. Haunting and spellbinding aromas like great Volnay can get. Very red fruited. Palate is elegant, fresh and super juicy. So clean and vivid with lovely mid season and sour cherry fruit. Lots of it and very succulent. Love 14. Love the transparency. So long. Great showing.

Soaring nose. Sour cherries, Earth, mineral, spice, bramble, mint and really aromatic. After 30 minutes. Stunning. Gorgeously wild and also refined. Palate is very juicy with terrific balance. Ripe and juicy tannins provide structure. Lovely fruit, freshness and minerality and definitely built for the long haul. Serious wine with major sap and depth.

Sous bois on the nose. Plummy and earthy. Some spice. Still tight a bit but drinkable. Some grip. Nice acidity.

Romaric may be famous for his whites but man his reds are smoking. This is beautiful. Gorgeous and classic 2014 nose that has lovely fruit but also a classical earthy grit. But super perfume of cherries, lavender fields, flowers and spicey earth notes. Really aromatic. Palate is gorgeous with sweet sappy fruit and a firm structure that will loosen up and this wine aerates. Super sweet, silky and seductive after 15 minutes open.

Beautifully perfumed nose, violets & lavender, dark fruits, soft & plush mouthfeel, spice & anise on the finish. Paired beautifully with homemade jambalaya.
