Killer. What a set of 18’s here. Some spicey oak, some smoke, iodine, feral, funky, expansive and so crazy aromatic. Really deep. So airy and mineral but also a lovely hint of wildness. Man, so juicy and concentrated with such purity and finesse. Lovely iodine and minerality. This is so so refined. Wow. Long and elegant. So elegant. This is elite. Almost a 9.6. Terrific concentration and sweetness. Mineral, wood and fruit combine to bring an engaging and tactile sweetness to the wine.

Nov 19th, 2020Rich and complex nose. Wet earth, almost an umami Element, spice, citrus rind, superbly complex, perfumed and floral. Palate is dense and structured and showing much younger than I would have guessed. Superbly mineral and quite closed on the finish. But long and lingering with perfect balance.

May 16th, 2019Stunning wine. Sickness. Give Chavy a few years and he will blow you away. Refined and noble aromas of hazelnut and iodine. Flowers galore. So mineral. Earthy, funky, sponti. Palate is like it is chiseled from rock. So pure and compact with laser like precision and purity. My god the purity. It’s so clean it’s like a white room. Brilliant!

Stunning nose of iodine, hazelnut, minerals, earthy funk, some floral perfume, touch of oak and so much nuance and complexity which is what Folatieres is to me aromatically. Rich and elegant with ripping acidity and lovely mineral/iodine tones and impressive concentration, but is so graceful and elegant. Terrific lithe yet serious structure and dazzlingly pure. A baby now but this is drinkable and will age. So impressive.
