First bottle since 2014. Wow has this opened. Stunning and stoney nose with red brambly fruits and uncommon depth. Classic Pommard. Gorgeous tiny berry fruit intensity. Amazing purity and depth. Such a fine nose. 9.5 aromas. Palate is silky and sweet with awesome freshness and stoney, sweet silky depth. Wow. Such clarity and depth. Stunning. Still some dusty and sleek tannins that suggest further aging but the fruit has finally come out of its shell. Such divine cherry fruit!

Dec 21st, 2021Lovely aromas. Big time Pommard stones and minerals. Gorgeous blackberry and black cherry fruit. Really vivid and detailed. So pretty. Palate is ripe, lush and elegant with terrific balance. A bit clipped on the finish which will surely gain with air. Lovely persistence of black cherry with elegant and dusty tannins. Terrific concentration and a classic very old school profile. Needs time but very good today but will be much better in 5 years.
After 6-7 hours open this has changed. 9.3 to 9.4. So elegant and pure now. Really deep. So refined.

Spice and smoke and clearly defined minerals after some air. Really a wow nose. Incredible purity and balance with sour cherry and sweet cherry fruit of the mid season kind. Very pure. Delicious. Great freshness and balance as well. Elegant and pure. Long. Gorgeous tannins. Substantial yet pure. Such energy and precision. Elegant and powerful. The most “Barolo” of all the Burgundy villages. Great stuff .

Feb 19th, 2020Enormously complex nose. Woodland, cherries, mineral, violets, earthy, palate is superb. Dense, sweet, rich and ripe. Wonderful texture mouthfeel and exceptional purity. Stunning. Best Chavy red I’ve ever had. Amazing finish and dynamic energy. This wine has presence. Big tannins but ripe and elegant. Lovely sweet fruit and tiny berry fruit intensity.

Belle surprise, fruits noirs, épices, une bouche avec du volume, des tannins de belle texture, juste un peu de poigne, frais et gourmand.
Nice surprise, dark fruit, spices, medium bodied plus, some volume and density, nice texture with some grip but still fresh and luscious.
