One of the wines I had in 2008 that made me fall in love with wine was a Côte du Rhone by JL Chave "Mon Coeur". It's been a long time since I had a Rhone wine, I got this from Kermit Lynch shop in Berkeley, Cali. Nice notes of pepper and spice, gamy, good tannins from Syrah. Another good find from Kermit... Try this with steak that has fat, you will love this wine!

Tasted a 2013 bottle. Nice, balanced nose, and pleasant body with earthy tones. Oaky, light peppery finish. Great qualité-prix ratio. Will likely buy and share a case.
