Les Champs Perdrix Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Pinot Noir
Hyacint , bergamot, strawberries and cherries, dried rose and earthy spice. Still with plenty of energy and nerve but with a slight volatile exposure that creeps up on you and expose it age.
Palate is det with a fresh acidity, velvety tannins and elegantly waltzy mid palate that lingers throughout the palate

From a little vineyard just above one of the most highly reputed vineyards (La Tâche) in of the most highly esteemed villages (Vosne Romanée) in the most sought after region of the world (Burgundy) lies this little vineyard called Aux Champs Pedrix. 10 years ago some grapes was grown and harvested in this vineyard and fermented into wine..
... And as the wine dust of its shoulders and get comfy in the glass it is an drop dead gorgeous act indeed. Still with plenty of nerve intact in a borderline between dried and fresh fruit, a vivid perfumed mid section of incense, bitter orange and dried roses that lies over a savoury foundation of soy sauce, dried mushrooms and forrest floor.
A fresh spine and silky grip from the tannins keeps the palate intact as it travels like a graceful waltz through the palate over the long finish.

A solid proof why you should age your Bourgogne wines. A “simple” Village Lieu-dit (above La Tâch) is finding itself in a wonderful stage in life near 10 years past harvest. Just let it dust off its shoulder and catch your attention as it opens up with a toffee like red fruit character, dried roses, sous bois, truffle, spice and rocks before slowly walking out with a graceful posture.

Mar 8th, 2020Rockin’ with grace, entering the party with velvet slippers and takes over the scene. On the peek of maturation with balanced primary and tertiary aromas with deep complexity. An elegant, but dense presence on the palate with a silky texture and developing characters throughout a long finish.
Peak of maturity with a defined tertiary aromas that is kept up well by the pronounced primary fruit profile.

Weirdly oak-forward seeming for a 20+ year old wine. Beautiful turned earth, forest floor, porcini and fading fruit underneath, but it presents mostly vanilla and clove and sweet barrel notes. Odd and unexpected. I don't drink old Bruno Clair often, so... 🤔

Apr 24th, 2018Not a 1er Cru, but it should be! Lovely Vosne. Velvet, sappy cherry fruit with Vosne spice. Hints of vanilla and stones. A whiff of oak char on the nose, but less so on the palate. Decanted for 2 hours prior to consumption.
