Domaine Berlancourt
Cuvée la Demoiselle Bourgogne Chardonnay
Orchard fruit, lemon curd, hazelnut, rich and round. Definitely some oak influence, but very nicely balanced

The fruit leans to very ripe apple and pear, cut with some sweet, ripe Meyer lemons and orange blossoms. Toast, vanilla and baking spices compound the whole experience. With all that said the balance and underlying freshness keep it all together perfectly. Drink now or up to 5 or maybe more years.

Some tropical fruit as well but in no way is it vulgar. It’s just ripe. Fresh rain on a fields of herbs. Really pretty nose. So nuanced and elegant but so so well made. A knockout. 9.5 nose. Palate is deep. Really deep. Chewy, dense and mineral. Really mineral. Some hints of fruit but man is this mineral. Long and concentrated. Tastes woodsy. Not woody. Really long finish and dynamic structure and energy. This drinks 1er cru level easy. I think it’s closing down and will be better in 4 years or so.

Elegant meursault vibes, without any vulgar opulence. Judicious wood, spices, tropical fruit, good concentration. Excellent balance given the vintage.
