Drinking beautifully right now. Color does not show its 8 years of age. Initially, the nose is all about earth and beef jerky, but after an hour or so beautiful fruit (deep ripe blackberry and blackcurrant) takes over, with earthy minerals receding to the background. Also a sweet honey wheat bread note. Texture on the palate is gorgeous. Super-fine-grained tannins are resolved. There is an unusual sweet iron-like note in the initial part of the palate, with some fruit and ending on a sandstoney minerally theme. Upper echelon Crozes.

Full of juicy black fruit with aroma of blackberry, black cherry, plum, bay leaf, and a wonderful earthy character with hints of violet and leather. Just beginning to show some tertiary character. Vibrant on the palate with great freshness as well as a long finish. Soft, ripe tannins - ready to go now but should last for several more years (though I’ll consume it before then!)

Very nice structure acid that’s super subtle, sweet tarragon structured smell, super fresh pond in a moving water way smell too, easy with sort of a small cheeriness and tarragon at bottom, a sweet soft backend that sits and could work miracles with food that also sits

This understated Crozes was soft and easy to drink, but a little short on pizzaz. It worked very well with brisket and latke's and we enjoyed it all the same!

Deep ruby, bell peppers rocks and violets, blueberries and plums. On the palate silky texture, rich. Med+ body, med+ chalky slightly astringent tannin and finish #crozeshermitage #syrah

Typical aromas of spice, black pepper and a bit gamey. A touch of brett.

Can't really rate it. It's an '04 that was cooked. That having been said, still has a little nice umph to it!

All tannin and alcohol. Wonder if there is a little cork taint here.
