This kicks ass for the money. Very well made, reminds me of MSD in character. Dark and savory with plenty of charm. Has all the rustic and earthy notes that I crave from Burgundy. Redux at first but air and a bottle shake do the trick. From Old VV vines in Vosne and Haute Cote du Nuits.

Not bad for a grocery store find. Nice range of cherry, turned earth, a little blackberry and cherry liquor. The pleasure is in the aromatics, where it gained some nice floral intensity (rose petals) over 2 hours. Acidity is moderate plus, and a bit tart. Length is medium. A nice wine.

2016 Oka has higher acidity level than most people's tolerance threshold, but it exudes breed and class, lots of reserve in energy, it is thoroughly modern but totally enlightened winemaking.
