A tad bit tired, but a very cool experience. Butterscotch and caramel galore.

Dark color. Hints of marmalade and toffee. Not much fizz. A slightly tired bottle but fascinating still with good intensity and depth and a balancing acidity.

Dark amber. Flat but interesting. Sherried notes and a rather lovely lucid acidity and balance. Clearly past it’s best as a champagne but there’s a brown sugar clarity to this. I like this but it would’ve been great a decade ago

Tasted blind. Medium gold. Persistent small bubbles. Notes of apricot, peach and some yeast in the nose. Great texture in the mouth. This improved over an hour as it got more air. Very nice.

This was an experience but unfortunately, not one of deliciousness. Nutty, smoky and a bit Madierized. But lots of bubbles and some orchard fruits. Three more vintages of Dom and about another forty bottles were there too. 1976

Buttered toast, lemon. apple tart, caramel, vanilla. Ripe orchard fruit and honey on the palate. Nice amount of bubbles on opening that dissipated after 20 minutes.

Amazingly fresh, deep yellow color, fine bubbles, stone fruits, yeast, great minerality. Light, ripe fruit on the palate excellent finish. #domperignon
