Wet hair, barnyard Coca Cola. Light red fruit. Medium tannins. Funky spanish red. Definitely old world esque.

at least a couple of additional tenths of a point because it was better on day 3 than day 1. ashy, volcanic goodness.

Frankincense & rose wafting through a stone cathedral. No wonder they call it Mission.

Smells of black pepper in bacon fat.

Once the Brett blows off, the pumice and smoke come through, with high acidity and mouth puckering tannin.
Always seeking out those hard to find wi Es, I recommend trying the ones from the Canary Islands.

Unique wine from the Canary Islands. First time I could actually taste the volcanic soil in a wine, as it’s super prominent and lends an interesting funkiness to the wine but also adds depth and character. Pretty cool if you’re in the mood for something a little different.

Berries and earth, and volcanic goodness. Give it lots of time to open up.

This is really starting to loosen up & get good. Black black cassis & a sinewy, brambly undercurrent. Fine tannins starting to integrate. That smoky minerality thang the Canaries have in spades. Medium bodied but it’s a big wine snuck in. Didn’t decant- that will only help. Woman vintner. Bowler import.
