Blood orange, cranberry, sweaty gym socks, some phenolic bitterness, interesting wine but not a re-buy for me

Mar 29th, 2020Drank alongside the ‘19 over 4 days. The ‘20’s freshness did it favors! High acid, smoky and herbal palate, funky funky nose for the first couple days, but a good mixture of wild fermentation and eloquently expressed terroir. I like these wines for the $ and find them quite versatile pairings for forte foods.

Jul 3rd, 2022Drank alongside ‘20 over 4 days. Both had explosive funk on nose immediately after open, as do many tenerife nat wines… ‘19 at first was leaner and saltier, then kinda flabby, then again veered back into a beam of salt and mineral. Not sure if the age did much for this wine, but I thought it was quite enjoyable still with its smoky, brambly herbal palate and rowdy nose. For the $ a great pair w spiced up fish, curries, or even some toro sashimi
