Midas Touch Ancient Ale

Now I’m a Dogfish Head fan but this, my nigga, is equal parts bad and Boozy! Brewed with honey, grapes and saffron w/ 9% ABV it’s perfect crossover for a wine lover like myself. Wonderful floral smell. Definitely a total experience.

This is THE beverage that flipped the switch for me about beer 🍻. In my wine class at college, the professor taught ancient fermentation methods with this.. honey, lemon, and kiwi. Saffron? Maybe...

Beer/wine/mead mesh. Beautiful aromatics, palate is much more mead like. Interesting play of yeasty richness and bright floral fruitiness on the palate. Only complaint is a bit of a metallic taste on the finish.

So Dogfishhead are basically mixologists now.

Drink like King Midas!

After 12 hours of the operating room, my daughter got Mickey D's (apple slices....gotta keep it healthy) and I thoroughly enjoyed a cheeseburger with this Midas Touch Ancient Ale! Great roasted toffee malt, a touch sweet, very complex beer that went well with "beef."

Had this at a lecture on ancient fermentation, its a sweet honey mead, props to Dogfish for trying this, love the hint of saffron.
