Amaro dell'Erborista

So complex. Rooty, earthy, bitter herbs. A touch of honeyed sweetness to offset a bitter second half of the palate and some chalky tannins.

Wow. Lightly smoked, nice balance of bitter and sweet, gorgeous cloudy pour—almost looks like a cider. Long herbal finish. Really nice cap to a rich meal.

Better than I dreamed! No such thing as too bitter. So imagine you took a s’more, doused it in, say Montenegro tossed it in a fire. This beauty is The Best Amaro I’ve tasted yet. Smoke, bitter, sugar, wood and spice. WTF this is the genius thing we all need.

If Francis Mallman made an Amaro this is what it would taste like. Primordial smoke and savory herbs, unlike just about any other beverage.

Quintessence of smoke and herb.

One of the most truly unique and delicious things I've ever tasted. Lifted earthy sweetness with light texture and little if any residual sugar. Made a good fernet taste like cough syrup.

Great finish to the evening.

Sweet and piney, yet still quite expressive. I've always thought that if this amaro had more of an herbaceous undertone, it would be perfect. This was the closer for the night.
