Can you be sexy without being full of voluptuous fruit and all dolled up with new oak lipstick? Yes, yes you can. Especially after a couple hours in a decanter. Light, lithe, alive, and yes, sexy.

Interesting to follow this wine for a while. Initially it was very tight with a wall of tannin and acid despite ripe fruit on the nose. With food and a bit more time, dark fruit, earth and a bit of funk emerge. For now a long decant and food with fat; otherwise give it more time.

I always enjoy D&R wines for their tasty, quaffable nature. Great weekday easy drinkers. Where I’m let down is in their homogeneity. Each bottle seems like same wine repeated with little varietal character. Maybe it’s the concrete ferments and/or carbonic maceration.
