Floral, smoky nose with fresh red fruits (I get strong cherry notes) and well-integrated oak. Medium bodied. A nice wine - made in a modern style, while still respecting Rioja tradition.

Omg! Aromatics to die for. Floral. Toasted oak. Still feminine.

cherry spice balance vanilla and oak. Smooth and pleasurable fruit with enough cut and acid to be interesting. $20.

Deep red with aromas of ripe dark berries and hints of sweet spice. On the palate blackberry, cherry and plum flavors emerge with vanilla spice, a hint of toasty oak in a well balanced wine. Fresh in style this medium body wine had fine tannins, juicy acidity making this wine lively and drinkable now.

Something austere and yet satisfying about this wine. It has all the old school markers to appeal to the purists with enough chutzpah to attract more modern-style inclined drinkers.

Flavors of blackberry and black cherry with rich notes of anise and vanilla. Smooth tannins and a refreshing burst of acidity on the finish.

Located in Briones, La Rioja in northern Spain, the Vivanco winery, museum, and foundation is operated by Third generation Pedro Vivanco who expanded the family business from wine merchant to winery. Dark Ruby with ripe berry aromas and sweet spice. Flavors of cherry and blackberry with espresso and vanilla spice, well balanced. Fine tannins with medium finish ending with toasty oak notes.
