45 min decant (lots of fine/cloudy sediment). A thrilling medium murky ruby red color. On the nose: Intoxicating nose of cassis, forest floor, little smoked meat, pine, sweet oak, little of that aged cab perfume. Taste: kaboom! smooth, soft, elegant, Velvety balanced wine with black cherry, pepper, dark chocolate, currants, and a crushed stone mocha finish. YUM!

Fantastic offering from Diamond Creek, this 2006 is terrific. Classic Napa Cab nose loaded with intense aromas of blue and black fruits, with just a hint of earthiness on the edge. Full-bodied with just enough acidity to keep it moving, I have to imagine that this is pretty much at peak right now.
