Fig and ripe red fruits along with hints of cedar on the finish. Although a bit jammy this wine is sure to be a crowd pleaser but still has enough complexity to be interesting to a more discerning pallate as well. Once again a great value from Portugal! ($6) [9/24/16]

Wow, review number 100, a mile stone. I've stuck with this app. Thanks to all the great people who make it special.

I picked this wine because I never tried one from Portugal before.

On the nose its black berry, cigar box and earth. The taste is dark cherry, pepper, leather and herb. Medium bodied, ruby in color. An interesting q.p.r. red blend. Paired with chicken, mixed veggie and pappardelle dish.

Wine enthusiast has it at 90, but I need to lower my score because its a bit too peppery for my taste.

12% ABV.

News Flash! After 2 days vacuum sealed in the fridge, the strong pepper taste is now mild. The fruit is more ripe, and now we taste smoke. Amazing, I bump the rating to 8.8

Balanced but not complex, and not as fruit-driven as many Portuguese wines I've tasted. Softer, cherry laden notes and mild tannins, easy drinking. Day 2 a bit softer yet.
This is good, but many other Portuguese value wines offer more depth of flavor. Drink it now, I don't see improvement with age.

Low to medium acidity. Jalapeño pepper and cherry notes. Tastes of cranberry and blackberries.

Some red, blue and black fruit, jammy with high residual sugar, could be mistaken for Zinfandel. Only 1/2 glass please

Super thin and watery. Not much taste. I wouldn’t look for this again.

Wonderful blueberry aromas, wow so aromatic. Still so vibrant and youthful. Pnp but I'd recommend letting it breath a bit before drinking. BlackBerry plum violet and slate. For a $6 on clearance wine, this is a grand slam!

Thin. Sweet, but not cloying.

A little on the sweet side but very refreshing. Goes well with a beautiful sunny day 72° after a week of total rain. For $10 a bottle I will definitely buy it again. Definitely has a hint of Cherry but is very mild. This is a 2011 that we’re having here in May 2019.

Definitely an amazing buy at $8/bottle. Bright, cherry, tart, sweet up front with a smooth finish. Will be a staple in my cellar.
