A good wine. I was hoping for a little more cut and sizzle. While nuanced, it didn’t come together quite right. We remarked that we either waited too long to drink it, or it needs another 5 years to evolve into something else.

The 1999 Delamotte is a fine Champagne for drinking right now. Honeysuckle, nuts, apple. A fine fizz from mini-Salon.

Outstanding in every regard. Full and toasty on the nose and palate, AND lean and racy on the finish. Loved the sherried quality from the dosage. Reminded me of my favorite Salon. A really complete wine. Awesome with our lox and bagels from Russ and Daughter. Thanks Jeff for another stellar bottle of bubbles.

Jul 10th, 2023AJ 96/100 - Colore giallo paglierino brillante, naso intenso con frutta secca, pasta frolla, splendida cera, forti note balsamiche, un sottofondo di frutta bianca matura ed agrume, mela renetta, perlage fine e di buona persistenza, in bocca molto morbido, pieno, sapido, finale lunghissimo. Mi sento un mostro a voler cercare per forza dei "difetti" in questi mostri!
AJ 96/100 - Colore giallo paglierino brillante, naso intenso con frutta secca, pasta frolla, splendida cera, forti note balsamiche, un sottofondo di frutta bianca matura ed agrume, mela renetta, perlage fine e di buona persistenza, in bocca molto morbido, pieno, sapido, finale lunghissimo. Mi sento un mostro a voler cercare per forza dei "difetti" in questi mostri!

1999 vintage Blanc de Blancs special black label which denotes late disgorgement in December 2014 and it's quite noticeable in terms of complexity of wines. More bready, dough character and more concentration. Creamed Apple sauce and some white peach and ripe lemon. Lovely integrated acidity. Palate has a bit more weight and concentration. Finish is more persistent than '97. Very good. NB: with air, some light beef consume notes.
