Douro Touriga Nacional
Beautiful Douro, made from Portugal's finest grape. Great with food. Vanilla and other fruit layers. Smooth.

Jun 24th, 2017Fantastic -little shy and took a couple of hours to ILE , but then it unfurled an impressive & complex nose of dark fruit & licorice, vanilla, mocha, freshly turned soil, some brambly and twigs, underbrush. Just really generous, leading to med + body and lush dark fruit on palate. Seamless balance of tannins & acidity, easy drinking yet structured. Some refinement here - didn’t notice any sign of age. Real gem w/solid QPR

Mar 2nd, 2024I'm a big fan of Portuguese wines. Good values to find. For $15, this is hard to beat.
Big dark fruits with tobacco and cedar.
Great with burgers and hot dogs.

100% Touriga Nacional - Portugal’s top red grape. Inky in color with strong notes of black currant, puréed raisin, prunes, dark chocolate brownies and dusky earth on the nose (this is after it’s had some time to open up). The palette is driven by the black, purple and dried fruits mentioned above, with an earthy - and slightly tart - finish. Plenty of sediment for a ‘12.
