Another splendid champagne from Dehours. A fine, persistent perlage and nice effervescence. The nose is rich and ripe with notes of apricot and nectarines. Roasted wood and sliced almond slivers. Red berries do come with plenty of time and air but never take center stage.
Everything here is so fresh and elegant. I personally can’t get enough of all this Meunier goodness. Zero dosage and disgorged in August of 2021 from Cerseuil, this still shows as youthful and precocious but drinks so well now. Racy acidity and just plain vigorous in nature, this is a wine that stands up and announces it’s presence. On the palate there’s plenty of citrus and a bit of apple. Lightly spiced caramel shows and is fantastic. These are terrific, oft under the radar champagnes and this is no exception.
