Jan 26th, 2019This 2016 Shiraz is part of the new 'River to Vine' Deakin Estate labels which celebrate the mighty Murray River in Victoria. The Murray River is one of the world's 🌎 longest navigable rivers, stretching 2,500kms! Deakin Estate are family owned and this new label range is to pay homage to the Murray and its role in helping create wonderful fruit to make the Deakin wines.
This Shiraz is super affordable at $10 a pop. It sees small amount of French oak by way of spending some of its maturation in tanks with small amounts of premium oak chips.
It's a purple-red colour in the glass with black plums, vanilla and spice on the nose. It's super easy drinking and is basically ribena for adults with a subtle spice and a 13.5% alcohol kick.
Available at First Choice stores across Australia.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #gifted #tcweekdaywine #tctastingnotes

🔥 BBQ wine 🍖
This Deakin Estate 2018 Shiraz from here in Victoria (Mildura on the Murray River) is the perfect quaffer for around the barbie. It’s easy drinking and super cost effective at only $10 a bottle.
This wine is vegetarian and vegan friendly. Pressing and malolactic fermentation were followed by clarification and maturation with some parcels aged with premium, fragrant French and American oak.
Here’s our notes:
We found it a juicy black plum colour in the glass. On the nose it’s rather delicate with notes of vanilla, blackberries and smoked fruit rising from the glass. While in the mouth it’s full of juicy cherry and raspberry notes sprinkled with spice. Super easy drinking and uncomplicated 👌
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.

Decent, fairly dry, bit fruity. Good for a cheap bottle .
