Ripe cherry drives the nose and palate, making very approachable for the domestic connoisseur. Sour cherry, acid and herbal earthy forest flavors enhance complexity on the mid- and finishing notes.

Gained steam with more time in the glass. But still not to dethrone my go to teroldego from Foradori

One of the wines from Le Volpe e l’uva in Firenze, this is a really nice example of a teroldego. Spice and sour cherry on the nose, the wine has a lot more fruit on the palate than I’m used to for this varietal (maybe 2013 was a warm vintage?). Terrific balance with very well-integrated, relatively sweet tannins. A wine you just keep going back to again and again. Highly recommend!

Tasted January 2013

Indigenous Teroldego, gone thru macaration, MLF and 12 to 18 months of oak ageing followed by final refinement in the bottle for a minimum of 12 months.

Color: dark ruby red with garnet reflections.
Bouquet: intense balsamic and spicy that soon leaves the road to the bursting nose of small red fruits.
Flavour: well-balanced, pretty warm, with rounded silky tannins. Harmonic, good texture.
Finish: complex and tart.

Really terrific example of a terodego rotaliano from northern Italy (Alto Adige I believe). Beautiful red-purple color, great depth on the nose with a nice balance of earthiness and red-black fruits, great acidity, and a balanced finish. SO good to be back at Le Volpe e l'uva!
