Reserva Legado Chardonnay
We tasted 17 wines today with owner Sebastian De Martino. He started us off with their 17 Reserve Legado Chardonnay. I liked it quite a bit. It reminded me of good Chablis with some slight differences. It was elegant and delicate. Some butteriness, honeysuckle, creamy but on the leaner side of creamy. Lemon custard, lemon, lime, green melon, guava, pineapple, nice saline & minerality with lilies and yellow florals. Excellent acidity and beautiful, rich finish. If this hasn’t landed in the US, it soon will. Buy some bottles, as it’s not only very good, it’s a steal at $20-$25.

Apr 13th, 2018This is a very interesting Chardonnay, but it is not my style. It has a big tropical nose and is very very ripe with a lot of oak but not a lot of malolactic. The pineapple flavors come through on the creamy mid-palate, an interesting sipping Chardonnay but I wouldn't want to pair it with food.

Clean, authentic, fresh and vibrant Chardonnay of Limarí Valley, 50% aged in used oak for 9 months.
Intense lemon color, straw glitters.
Charming bouquet of melon, biscuits, soaked apple, pineapple, peach, grass. Nutty nuances and white flowers. Minty whiff.
Palate is crisp, concentrated and textured. Medium+ body, distinctive minerality and pronounced acidity. Pomelo, white currant, rhubarb, green apple, pineapple flavors.
Tangy long lasting finish of green apple & lime, touched by sea minerals.
Perfectly suited seabass baked with herbs and olives.

Jul 20th, 2015Pale straw color. Nose of ripe fruit like melon and peach, orange, spices and a hint of oak. Fat but balance mouth feel with pineapple, melon, spices, coconut and a salty finish. Rich but not heavy, round and slightly buttery, with enough acidity to keep freshness. Modern Chardonnay, balanced without too much weight. Very good (89)
