Purple / ruby color. Nose of flowers, spices with black pepper being prominent and smoke. On the palate, blend of fruit flavors, pepper, nutmeg, smoked bacon and good acidity. Nice mix of depth, fruit and structure. Seems better than the last bottle drank 2 years ago. Very good+ (90)
Made of Syrah. Aged 12 month in 1 to 3 years old oak barrels. Alcohol level of 13% #dansmonverre — 11 years ago
Lightly colored. Salty and lemon nose, seaweed, mineral and fresh. Palate with lively, savory and razor sharp acidity, just the way I like white wines, all this on a salty finish with lemon again, mineral – rocky, just to be happier. Very good+ (90)
Made of Romorantin. Aged under oak for about 15 months. Alcohol level of 12% #dansmonverre — 11 years ago
Light gold color with green hue. Nose of petroleum, lime, pine tree and rocks. On the palate it is quite fat (Vaseline?), hint of minerals and green with pine and dry herbs flavors, acidity and fruit on the finish. A type of Riesling I’m not having that often, more opulent and ripe, but quite tasty. Very good+ (90)
Drank along a Tonschiefer Riesling Trocken 2012 from Dönnhoff, this Mesh Riesling was the group favorite, but mine was the Dönnhoff for its higher acidity level and the additional “bite” it has.
Wine made by Jeffrey Grosset and Robert Hill Smith, renowned Australian winemakers. Made of Riesling from two vineyards and have an alcohol level of 12.5% #dansmonverre — 11 years ago
Ruby color with pink rim. Nose of red fruits, wild flowers, some earth notes and fine spices. On the palate it’s so fruity, chewy, all that paired with a fresh aspect brought by the acidity. Flavors of cranberries, wild berries and a touch of black pepper on the finish. So tasty !
Made of Gamay from a 3,5ha vineyard, aged in tanks. Alcohol level of 12,5% #dansmonverre — 11 years ago
Lightly colored. Expressive nose that could be described as a mix of lemon juice poured over rocks and sea shells, very mineral and fresh. On the palate it is tight, fresh, salty and mineral with crispy green apple over a vigorous acidity. A real summer wine! Very good+ (89)
Made of Muscadet from 60 year old vines of a 3 ha vineyard. Aged 7 months on lees. Alcohol level of 12% #dansmonverre — 11 years ago
Dark garnet color. Nose of red and dried fruits (raisins, apricots), leather, fin spices and a hint of oak. On the palate it is quite enjoyable now and silky even if its structure can be felt. Dry fruits, leather, tobacco, old wood, a touch of spices and a good length. Beautiful wine that ask to be paired with grilled meat. Excellent (90)
Drank from a half bottle
Made of Sangiovese. Aged 30 months in 18 and 26hl oak barrels, with a small percentage in 500l barrels, then a year in bottle before hitting the shelves. Alcohol level of 14% #dansmonverre — 11 years ago
Hobo Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley Sonoma County 2013
Was eager to taste this one as I like all I’ve had from Hobo / Folk Machine. Nice flavors of black berries and spices, fresh enough, good acidity, structure and oak touch. Delightful! Not that far from Ridge Vineyards Zinfandel’s, my reference for that grape variety.
Made of 92% Zinfandel and 8% Petite Sirah. Aged in oak barrels, French and American, 15% new. Alcohol level of 13,8% #dansmonverre — 11 years ago
Dark purple color, can’t see through it. Nose of black berries, spices, smoke and cedar wood. Merlot (1/3 of the blend) is dominating the wine. On the palate, small berries pie, oak, heated spices, anise. Medium acidity level, rich mouthfeel and slightly dry on the finish. Needs a year or two to soften, or be paired with grilled dish. Very good (89)
Blend of Syrah (32%), Merlot (32%), Cabernet Franc (31%) and Petit Verdot (5%). 50% of the wine is aged for 4 months in new and second use French oak barriques. The wine is aged for another 3 months in bottle before release. Alcohol level of 14% #dansmonverre — 11 years ago
Intense gold color. Classic Chenin nose with apples, spices (mainly nutmeg) and rock dust. Palate where green apples, nuts and minerality leads to a finish with some tork on it coming from the not overpowering acidity. Nothing to be afraid of in the wine (reference to the word “Méchant” in the name of the wine). Very good (89)
Made of Chenin Blanc, alcohol level of 11,5%
Drank from a magnum size bottle #dansmonverre — 11 years ago
Pale straw color. Nose of ripe fruit like melon and peach, orange, spices and a hint of oak. Fat but balance mouth feel with pineapple, melon, spices, coconut and a salty finish. Rich but not heavy, round and slightly buttery, with enough acidity to keep freshness. Modern Chardonnay, balanced without too much weight. Very good (89)
Made of Chardonnay from a vineyard at 15km from the Pacific Ocean. Ageing of 11 months in used French oak barrels. Alcohol level of 13,5% #dansmonverre — 11 years ago
Purple color. Classic nose of Cabernet Franc with its animal profile, then red berries, leather, spices, grilled bell pepper. On the palate, it’s chewy, spicy, has leather, green pepper and stays fresh even if you can feel the structure of the wine beneath it. Excellent (90)
Made of Cabernet Franc with 80% whole cluster fermentation, aged 7-8 months in large oak barrels called puncheon (twice the capacity of a regular oak barrel). Total production of only 49 cases! Alcohol level of 13,2% #dansmonverre — 11 years ago
Light straw color. Nose of aromatic herbs (laurel, thyme), honeydew melon, citrus fruit, clay and salt. On the palate it’s round, concentrated, herbal in the same way as the nose was, far from the classic grass flavor / scent that usually Sauvignon Blanc gets. Ripe flavors of melon, citrus fruit, asparagus and clay soil. Quite different and never the alcohol level was present. Very good (88)
Made of 100% Sauvignon Blanc from a vineyard located at 4km from the Pacific Ocean. Aged in stainless tanks. Alcohol level of 15% #dansmonverre — 11 years ago
Clos des Fous Cauquenina 2012
Like every wine I’ve tasted from Clos des Fous, balance and freshness are there. Flavorful yet deep, it drinks pretty well alone or with barbecue. Another good product from them!
Blend of Carignan, Cinsault, Syrah and Malbec with an alcohol level of 13,5%. #dansmonverre — 11 years ago
Barnaut Grand Cru Blanc de Noirs Brut
Served to start the camping season with friends as addict as we are, sabre included. High acidity then pastries, citrus fruit (blood orange). Some fat on the finish. Ok, not much, but the moment good indeed!
Made of Pinot Noir. Alcohol level of 12% #dansmonverre — 11 years ago
Deep ruby color. Fruit forward nose with a lot of spices, black soil, rock dust and just a hint of oak. On the palate, it is more structure than what I was expecting, but still stays fresh and pretty easy to drink, and the quick time it took to get over the bottle is an undeniable proof it was! Earthy and mineral style, peppery like a Northen Rhone Syrah made in Morgon ! Excellent (91)
Made of Gamay from a 3ha vineyard, natural winemaking, aged for 6-9 months in used oak barrels (of a minimum of two wine) and one 30-hectoliter foudre. Alcohol level of 12,8% #dansmonverre — 11 years ago
Very lightly colored with gold hue. Lemon nose, minerals, citrus fruit, green apples, it’s fresh and rocky. On the palate, there is depth and weight on lime and green apples flavors, touch of spices, acidity that balances the residual sugar. Nice intense and long finish. A type of Riesling I especially like, same for the producer ! Excellent (91)
Made of 100% Riesling from a vineyard on a slate soil. Fermentation and ageing in stainless tanks and large oak vats. Alcohol level of 12,5% #dansmonverre — 11 years ago
Fine nose with minerals, pear, spices, hint of candied grape fruit and the strength can even be detected on the nose. On the palate it’s mouth coating, full of flavors, perfect minerality, spicy profile well integrated to the fruit and a superb acidity to balance everything. A powerful and complex white. Superb (93)
Made of Chardonnay. Aged in Austrian oak vats (25% new) for 12 months, then 6 months in stainless tanks prior to bottling. Alcohol level of 14% #dansmonverre — 11 years ago
Dark ruby color. Nose of red berries, earth, old wood, orange zest and peppery spices. On the palate, salty fruit flavors, English candy, slightly mineral and with air, black pepper and fresher. Tasted bling, was quite a surprise! Excellent (91)

Dark ruby and slightly purple color. Medium expressive nose with fruit, earth and a hint of this nature wine classical aroma (a little « funk », animal/fur), but nothing overpowering the wine. On the palate, sappy fruit flavors, cherries, earth, structure of the wine that pairs well with its fruity profile, good acidity and a touch of bitterness. A type of wine I like for its quenching ability while still having depth and being serious enough to be enjoyed, and not falling in the nature wine «cliché» made for a specific type of consumer. Very good (89)
Made of Gamay, carbonic maceration fermentation with whole bunch (with stems) without any addition of yeast not sulfur. Bottle in March following the harvest. Alcohol level of 12,5% #dansmonverre — 11 years ago
Patrick Ayotte
When it feel like drinking wine, there is almost nothing better than Beaujolais! Drank alongside a camp fire, this fruit forward wine with flavors of spices, earth, a little simple but so refreshing and tasty. Like it!
