Elegantly made red blend by four chaps and four grapes. Medium-bodied, silky tannins, notes of lead pencil, Assam tea, blackberry, violets, mineral, and espresso.

Very dark with an inexpressive nose. Smooth and silky on the palate with an unusual touch of rusticity. Dark@cherries with a leathery feel and a slight bit if underbrush. Acidity and tannins show up, still rather gently, on the finish. Fine, idiosyncratic wine but not for the fruit bomb contingent!

Clos des Fous Cauquenina 2012

Like every wine I’ve tasted from Clos des Fous, balance and freshness are there. Flavorful yet deep, it drinks pretty well alone or with barbecue. Another good product from them!

Blend of Carignan, Cinsault, Syrah and Malbec with an alcohol level of 13,5%.
