This Carmenere comes from 15 year old Estate vines and made in cement & stainless tanks.
On the nose; slight pyrazine notes, blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, blue fruit hues, dry stones & dark moist soils, red roses & florals.
On the palate, lean, ripe fruits; blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries & blue fruit hues. Big round but gentle tannins. Gritty minerals, black cherry licorice/cola, soft leather, dry stems, slight herbaceous notes, red roses, red flowers & violets, nice acidity and a lovely, ripe, round finish.

Not one of my favorites, but has a great full fruity front. Sweet berries and peaches. Also a slight smokiness that adds. Back end has a slight bitter, metallic taste that takes a little bit away from the front end.

Kicking off my NY resolution to drink more Southern Hemisphere wines. This is textbook everything good about Chile...purity of fruit, niceness of price.
