Beat expectations… love it when that happens. Was oaky and buttery and I usually hate that… but Bynum was in balance.

Quite oaky but not very buttery. Honestly did not love — until I tasted it with lobster bisque. The soup emphasized the wine’s seemingly hidden minerality and made it much better for me.

Less about the fruit than the oak. Fruit is hidden behind too much oak which is too bad. Russian River fruit is usually expressive enough without the mask. Reminds me of everyone's love of hops with IPA.

10 months on French Oak is too much. There is some fruit in there but realty have to search for it. #oaked 2013 vintage.

Classic New World Chard from The Russian River Valley. Ripe red and green apple, pear and spice. Definitely oaked with lots of new oak character.
