[68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Syrah, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6.5% Merlot, 6% Malbec, 2% Pinot Noir, 1.5% Tannat, with splashes of Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, and Barbera.] Fascinating blend in this Cabernet-based wine from the l’Herault area of southern France, according to online ratings, the drinking window for this 36-year-old wine expires this year, but it’s super fresh, with great acidity, and well-stored bottles should continue to age gracefully, still shows solid structure and some good tannins, super layered and complex, very long, lingering finish, great juice!!

Dark blackcurrant appearance. On opening notes of black cherry, white pepper and ribena. Tastes of sour cherry, light rhubarb and a slight stewed berry flavour. Also some white pepper. Good balance but not a great length. At the price a nice quaffing wine.
