Grapes picked too early or missing the spicy mocha influence of new oak? Unlike Sangiovese or Nebbiolo I think Cabernet Sauvignon needs new oak to show its best.

It's my third wine from this producer. This one is very dry, strong tannins, high acidity. Fruits are barely palpable, not worth mentioning. Also: vanilla, dark chocolate, mint maybe (nose). If I found some pepper note my rating would be higher.
