Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim. Not showing age at all.

Great nose with nice complexity.

Dry on the palate and full bodied with medium acidity.

Showing blackberries, black currants, cooked plums, cedar, tobacco leaf, light earth, herbs and chocolate notes.

Long and elegant finish.

This 18 year old Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley is drinking beautifully now. Rich and elegant. Powerful and fruit forward. Delicious by itself as a sipping wine.

I've had a few vintages of this wine and the 2012 was my favorite so far.

Robert Parker 90 points. Wine Spectator 94 points.

A blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 17% Cabernet Franc.

14.8% alcohol by volume.

93 points.

$140.

On Christmas-Eve our 3rd and final wine was the 2016 Dancing Hares Vineyard Red Blend from Napa Valley. The blend of this wine is 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Merlot.

The nose gives wonderful notes of black cherry, black raspberry, black currant, a herbaceousness, chocolate and earth.

On the palate there are notes of black cherry, black raspberry, black currant, plum, mocha, green bell pepper, spice and a nice earth component.

This is a full bodied wine with a fresh velvety mouthfeel, medium + acidity and medium + sandy tannins that coat your mouth that leads into a long black fruit earthy finish. What an ending to a wonderful evening. All three wines did not disappoint. Have a great rest of your holidays, enjoy family and friends and stay safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Fun Friday evening with great wines.

I didn’t know this wasn’t 100% cab, so when I compared it against the ‘07 O’Shaughnessey Howell, I was shocked at the difference. Then saw that it was mainly split of cab, merlot and cab franc. The franc here is very prominent up front...very floral, like fresh dark potpourri. Added underripe blackberry and sweet smoke. On the palate, merlot shows well with ripe black cherry, baking spices, currant and a nimble structure...light, with good acidity and strong tannins. Slowly unfurling, I’d decant if opening soon.

Delicious but young wine with crushed berry notes (blackberry dominated), smooth cool minerality, and a streak of oak on the end. This just feels like it needs a bit more time to come together and settle

Youthful. Powerful. I got to this after it had been open an hour and it was starting to round in to form, but even then, it was gripping and tight. This epitomizes the dark end of the fruit spectrum...cassis, blackberry, blueberry, espresso/mocha, and high percentage dark chocolate covered dates. Unabashed authority in the way the fruit swirls all over. Oak is very apparent at this stage adding Mexican vanilla.
