More evolution than I expected. Still sound but perhaps better a year ago. Barolo Lecinquevigne is a blend of Nebbiolo from five vineyards; Barolo, Verduno, Grinzane Cavour, La Morra and Novello. Sweet strawberries, orange notes, roses, leather, tobacco, and subtle hints of violets and tar. Nice pair with Cari's lasagna.

Well it is Friday again and I am going to northwest Italy to have a bottle of.Barolo. On the nose we get some good dark plum, cassis, tobacco, camp fire smoke and wet soil. The palate brings me good dark fruit, sweet tobacco, licorice, an acid bite, tannins that give that nice drying feeling and a good finish that lasts. I would be more than happy to purchase this bottle again.

Medium garnet core with thinning on the edges. Nose is a bit dark and tight with notes of strawberries and roses. A touch of earthiness too. Soft attack with moderate tannins (6.5/10) that hit mid palate. Interesting with a light body. Similar notes on the palate with something like tar in the medium finish. Drink till 2020.

Just love the Damilano Barolo's. A bit young but I couldn't resist. Lovely.
