A very decent Rioja, somewhere between the modern and very traditional.
Fresh, ripe cherries, a touch of tobacco, cigar box, a whiff of herbs.
Great balance on the palate, very fine, dust like tannins, juicy acidity and a generous dollop of ripe fruit with a touch of vanilla and roast meat as well.
Fresh, juicy, complete and quite elegant.
A perfect match for a flank steak!
And, on top, this closes down after the first pour, so clearly has some years ahead. At 12€ - this is a steal!

Dusty and dry. Bright cherry fruit underneath ripe green pepper and unripe plum. Surprisingly silky mouthfeel with a nicely balanced acidity. But the odd combination of green vegetable and underripe fruit render it tougher to enjoy. Assuming it’ll get better with some age.

Not yet fully integrated even for its age (maybe 5 years more?) but delicious! Funk ad salty barnyard nose, tart cherry fruit and a finish of cocoa and lingering tannins. Yes indeed...
