Lime pith swells with shallot, lemon peel and lemon-poppy bread, seashell, chive, carnation, orchids, candied grapefruit peel bouquet. Dry and enticing entry, has a Chablis like austerity, but rounder, showing chamomile and caper with lemon juiciness. .

Lovely #chardonnay from #margaretriver it is the #benchmark for the region and Jancis Robinson tasted it blind and preferred it over Chardonnays from all around the world Top. Margaret River Chardonnay is recognizeable for its concentrated ripe fruit, high acidity and balance between the two.

Taut, saline, lots of nerve balanced by some breadth. Reductions runs a line from nose to palate, almost bordering on faulty for me.

The lightness of pure fruit, gentle oak and lean acid line give this 2017 vintage an elegance reminiscent of Chablis or Puligny.

Pale Lemon. Some funky solids notes amongst the citrus mineral and honey. Profound intensity on the palate - as good as a Grand Cru Chablis. I knew it was good but not this good. One of the best expressions of Chardonnay I have had this year from anywhere - Chablis and Burgundy included. On the 2nd night it had put on more stone fruit peachy weight to accompany the minerality. At the Decanter (UK) World Wine Awards winner of Best Chardonnay in 2016. Have my last one in 2 to 3 years.
