Black fruits dominate, rich, Indian spices, black tea, lots of stem notes which needs time to integrate. Round texture, finished very dry, can feel some unripe tannins on the finish. 50% whole clustered. Solid wine but could use more finesse.

I did not get to write notes on the last three wines, just scores. We had to get to Russell Hamilton.

However, I wish I had been able to write them as these were the wines I was looking forward to spending some time on.

Peter & Andrew Allan of Crystallum are the third generation of winemakers and sons of the man who pioneered Pinot Noir winemaking in the Hemel-en-Aarde which; is what drew me to the region that is about another hour plus SE of Stellenbosch and a very good area to produce Pinot Noir.

Bright and fresh, with a huge acid bite. Fleshes out with beautiful autumnal Pinot notes. Wound up quite tight, but ready to unleash added deliciousness in a couple of years

2015 vintage must say really great Pinot Noir with a lot of stuff going on; smoke, leather, earth/dust, minerality, spices, a full fruitbasket and superb acidity! Drinking smooth and very well!

16.5/20 (91/100) Аромат уходит в чёрные ягоды: черешню и ежевики, есть ноты копченостей и ментола. Довольно высокая кислотность и мягкие, обволакивающие танины. Этот винтаж мне нравится меньше, чем 2016 и 2017, хотя чувствуется Единая стилистика, 2018 очень напоминает Германию.

17.5/20 (94/100) Элегантный и деликатный аромат фруктов со специями. Довольно тельное и кислотное вино. Танины мягкие, но вязкие (50% вина проходила брожение с гребнями). Насыщенное во вкусе. Отлично! #capewine2018
